KERNERSVILLE- Dorothy “Dot” Louise Joyce Willard, 86, of 250 Kerner Ridge, formally of 5925 Old Valley School Rd. died, Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Willard was born December 20, 1925 in Forsyth County to the late Robert Walter and Emma Mounce Joyce.

Mrs. Willard was a member of Park View Primitive Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. Dot was a homemaker who was well known for “apple dumplings”. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and a friend to everyone who knew her. Mrs. Willard loved people.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Ned Cornelius
Willard; and ten brother’s Percy, Brady, Rex, Foy, Gilbert, Vernie, Claddie, Carl, John and Ben Joyce whom she dearly loved.

Surviving are her two daughters Joyce Louise Shields of Huntsville AL, and Judith Lynn Willard and partner Teena of Kernersville; Two sons Donald Ervin Willard and his wife Neata of Nashville, and Tim Willard and his wife Cindy of Belews Creek; six grand-children Laura Satzinger of Huntsville AL., Brian Satzinger (Debriel) of Memphis, Tenn., Christina Brown (Wiley) of Clemmons, Jennifer Osborn(Jon) of Oak Ridge, Brittany Thompson (DJ) of Kernersville and Megan Willard also of Kernersville; Two great grandsons, Jason Brown of Huntsville AL, and Harrison Brown of Clemmons; and a host of other special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Monday, June 18, 2012, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Elder E.W. Hooven officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
