Mrs. Bertha Hudson Faw, 96, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at The Oaks at Forsyth. Mrs. Faw was born on September 7, 1915 in Forsyth County to the late David and Rosa Miller. Bertha was raised by the late John Wesley Hudson and Bessie Annie Spaugh Hudson and always considered them her parents. She was a member of Fraternity Church of the Brethren. Mrs. Faw retired from Western Electric with 28 years of service. Preceding her in death along with her parents are her husband, Ralph Franklin Faw; a brother, Thomas Shadrick and two sisters, Mary Crews and Annie Cooper. Surviving Mrs. Faw are two half-sisters, Mary M. Hardy of Winston-Salem and Betty M. Whitt of Mars Hill, NC; a sister-in-law, Doris Shadrick of El Cajon, CA; a brother-in-law, Victor Crews of Winston-Salem and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Fraternity Church of the Brethren with Pastor Dave Kindy officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
