Name: Mr. Jackie "Jack" Franklin Swain Dates: Birth date: January 1, 1941 Death date: July 22, 2012 Obituary: Mr. Jackie “Jack” Franklin Swain, 71, of King, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He was born January 1, 1941 in Forsyth County to Henry and Roxie Goodman Swain. Mr. Swain loved the Lord and was a member of Friendly Chapel Church. He read through the Bible many times. He was a Disabled Veteran who served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Swain retired from Swain Painting. He loved his family, fishing, music, going to the beach, arrowhead hunting with his brothers and playing his guitar. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior and Terry Swain and his grandson, Josh Shelton. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Phyllis Jolly Swain; two daughters, Pam Deszern (Bud) of Rural Hall and Christy Cook (Will) of King; three grandchildren, Brandy Blake (David) of Stanleyville, Cody Metts of King and Hailey Sprinkle of Mt. Airy; one brother, David Swain (Brenda) of Winston-Salem; two nieces, Gina and Tanya and one nephew, Andy. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Friendly Chapel Church with Brother Don Collins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by V.F.W. Memorial Honor Guard.
