Mrs. Scarlett Rebecca Neal, 69, of Walkertown, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born December 19, 1942 in Glen Lyn, VA to Drewey Cephas and Gladys Meadows Blankenship. Mrs. Neal was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Mack Neal; a son, Danny Dwayne Clark; and four brothers, Timothy, June, Cephas and Daily Blankenhip. Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Link (Shawn) of Arcadia, Dreama Carter (Chris) of King; five grandchildren, Nick Clark (Samantha) of Alaska, Kayla Long (Chris) of Stokesdale, Michael Carter of King, Shana Williams (Justin) of King, and Brittany Clark of Mocksville; four great grandchildren, Jack Carter, Emma Ring, Madyson Clark and Noah Long; two sisters, Diane Herring of Winston-Salem and Janet Martin of Rocky Gap, VA; and three brothers, Cloyd Blankenship (Betty) of Bastian, VA, Ronald Blankenship of Winston-Salem, and Truman Blankenship of Greenville, W.VA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 26 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. John Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
