Name: Sidney Wheeler Faucett Dates: Birth date: May 29, 1925 Death date: August 10, 2012 Obituary: Kernersville – Sidney Wheeler Faucett, 87, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at his residence. Sidney was born in Vance Co. May 29, 1925 to the late Jessie Thomas and Mattie Cliborne Faucette. He retired from the US Navy after 30 years of service and retired from the Merchant Marines after 31 years of service. Mr. Faucett was the former Commander of the Kernersville VFW. He had many friends and was loved by all who knew him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Warren and Hugh Faucette, and two sisters Mary Tucker, and Vera Matthews. Surviving are his beloved wife, Helen Carrington Faucett, two brothers, Melvin Faucette (Shirley), Tommy Faucette (Donnie), and a sister in law, Effie Faucette. Also surviving are many special nieces and nephews. A Service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, August 13, 2012 at the Eastlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel. The family will recieve friends one hour prior to the service in the mausoleum chapel. The family would like to express a special thanks to Hospice of Forsyth County for all of their loving support.
