Obituaries

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Dorothy Covey Hemrick, 82, died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Health Center. Dorothy was born December 7, 1929 in Bradford County, PA to the late Howard Burton and Ethel Curtis Covey. She attended Kerwin Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Hemrick and one sister, Louise Johnson.

Surviving are four sons, Preston Hemrick (wife, Susan), Randy Hemrick (wife, Cindy), John Lee Hemrick (wife, Teresa) and Stephen Hemrick (wife, Patty); three daughters, Beverly VanHoy (husband, Brian), Jean Childress (husband, Charles) and Marylee Templeton;

11 grandchildren, Kim, Shawn, Wayne, Gail, Holly, Jaclyne, Anna, Stephen, Brittany, Derek and Christi;


15 great grandchildren, Hunter, Jerry Wayne, Tiffany, Shannon, Alisha, Nathan, Daniel, Aaron, Haylee, Cheyenne, Kyndall, Zach, Whitney, Jordan and Brittany;


three sisters, Ruth Sangiuliano (husband, Frank) of Binghamton, NY, Patricia Crandall, of Kernersville and Florence Hoover; and one brother, Howard Covey, Jr. (wife, Etta) of CO; three nieces, Linda, Mary and Annette; and a special friend, Juanita Cundari, of Kernersville.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Hewey Parrish and Pastor Danny Hemric officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Wednesday, June 13, at the funeral home.
