Obituaries

Mr. John Wallace Petree, 90 of Winston-Salem, NC passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Mr. Petree was born July 6, 1921 in Stokes County, NC to the late John Wesley and Ella Gordon Petree. He was married to Dottie Lou Flynt, who survives. He was a member of Ardmore Baptist Church. Mr. Petree is a US Army Veteran of WWII serving in the 194th Field Artillery Division. He was owner of Petree Electronics and was a member of the Electronic Technicians Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Erline P. Williams. Surviving to cherish his memory are four children and spouses; Judith P. Hobson (Charles) of Badin Lake, NC., Phyllis P. Crater (Steve) of Advance, NC, Kathryn P. Kaylor (Steve) of Shelby, NC., Robert W. Petree (Cyndi) of High Rock Lake, NC.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Howard G. Petree of Winston-Salem, NC. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel officiated by Rev. Christa Warise The Family will receive friends following the service.
