Mr. Ernest Sanford Fishel, 78, of Winston-Salem died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at his home. He was born December 6, 1933 in Winston-Salem, the son of the late, Emory J. and Gladys Shore Fishel. Mr. Fishel retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company following 36 years of service. He was an avid race car fan and loved going to the races at Bowman Gray Stadium. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Emory J. Fishel, Jr. Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Nancy Fishel of the home; son, Mark Fishel of Winston-Salem; daughters, Pam Hinson(Wesley) and Candis Fishel (Nancy) of Winston-Salem and Lori Fishel of Yadkinville; grandson Kenny Hinson (Jenny) of Winston-Salem; sister, Nancy Mantell of Winston-Salem; brother Donald Fishel of Winston-Salem; and a number of special friends and neighbors. A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 11:00 AM at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
