Winston-Salem- Mrs. Johnsie Pugh Liner, 99, passed away April 12, 2012 at The Oaks at Forsyth. She was born September 19, 1912 in Richmond County to the late Grady Leslie Pugh and Ella Louise Parker Pugh. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Roy S. Liner and her two brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Liner was a longtime member of Knollwood Baptist Church, served as the church Librarian for 25 years, and was a member of The Eastern Star. She served with her husband at four churches and had a deep involvement for many decades as a pastor’s wife. Mrs. Liner served more than 5,000 hours as a volunteer at N. C. Baptist Hospital. She is survived by her children, Dale S. Liner and wife Peggy, David V. Liner and wife Sallye, and Deborah Liner Loftis and husband Ron; seven grandchildren, Dr. Jonathan D. Liner and wife April, Julie C. Liner, Marcus D. Liner and wife Sabrina, Jason M. Liner and wife Melissa, Lindsey T. Bouchard and husband Nate, R. Wilson Loftis III, and Elizabeth G. Plotkin and husband Justin; and 10 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Lucas, Milo, Chase, Jack, Graham, Anthony, Olivia, Addison, and Allye. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Knollwood Baptist Church with Dr. Robert (Bob) Setzer officiating. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00am, Monday, April 16, 2012 at Floral Gardens in High Point with the Rev. Dr. Ronald W. Loftis, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Knollwood Baptist Church for the Library, 330 Knollwood St., Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
