Adam Tuathal O'Maille

Adam Tuathal O’Maille, 18, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020, due to injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident that also took the life of his mother, Karla O’Maille.

He was born on July 17, 2001, in Parkersburg, West Virginia to Brian O’Maille and Karla (Reed) O’Maille. He attended Atkins High School Magnet Program in Winston-Salem, NC, and graduated in 2019. His focus of study was biomedical technology. Adam was an avid musician and the lead guitar player for his band, Chief Brody and the Jaws. He learned to play the guitar quickly and enjoyed writing his own music. When Adam was a little boy, he accepted the Lord as his personal savior. He and his family attended Grace Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC, where he was an active member of the youth group. Adam’s faith in the Lord was evident in his daily life. He was unafraid to share with others the saving grace of Jesus Christ. He had a strong moral compass and always encouraged others to do the right thing. When you think of Adam, the word genuine comes to mind. He had a kind and compassionate spirit mixed with an ornery sense of humor and a laugh so unique. He had a big heart, a naturally protective nature, and an incredible smile. Adam truly felt that God had called him to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps. However, prior to completion of basic training, Adam was medically discharged. He and his mother were on their way home when this tragic accident occurred.

Adam is survived by his father Brian O’Maille; his paternal grandmother Judith (Weber) O’Maille; his maternal grandparents William and Karolyn (Wagner) Reed; his great grandfather William Reed, Sr.; his siblings, Krystal Dawn Strickland, Nathan Strickland, Kaszey O’Maille, and Eamon O’Maille; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Grace Baptist Church, 3305 Peters Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 12:45 PM, at the church. Interment will follow the service at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
