Alan Lee Barnett

           Mr. Alan Lee Barnett, 82, of Bermuda Run, NC passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born February 4, 1944 in Athens, GA to Walter Lee Barnett and Katie Hazel Parsons Barnett. Alan graduated from Athens High School and The University of Georgia. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company as a Vice President with over 30 years of service. He was a former Councilman for the Bermuda Run Town Council, President of the Bermuda Run Country Club Board and was on the Board of Allegacy Credit Union. Alan was an avid golfer and loved going to the beach. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kristi Lee Barnett, a sister, Kay Francis Barnett and a brother, Michael Barnett. Alan is survived by his family whom he absolutely adored, wife Martha Witcher Barnett; two children, Jeff Barnett (Kimberly) and Shar Beck (Darby); five grandchildren, Jensen Sales (Haley), Shelton Sales (Kirsten), Mary-Kate Rose (Jared), Jessica Beck and Andrew Barnett and nine great grandchildren. 
           A Private Memorial Service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Pastor Kestler Ruth officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina.
