Albert Brown Hyde

Mr. Albert Brown Hyde, 80, passed away after a brief illness on October 19, 2013 at his residence. He was born July 8, 1933 in Syracuse, New York to the late Milton Nelson Hyde and Lorena Brown Hyde. He was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church and retired from AT&T with 30 years of service. He was an avid golfer and coached youth basketball for over 25 years, and tutored students at North Hills Elementary School. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marlyn Hyde and Robert Hyde. Mr. Hyde is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carol Wilson Hyde; a daughter, Jeanine Hyde Moy (Dewey) of New Fairfield, CT; a son, Scott E. Hyde (Roribeth) of Poughquag, NY; five grandchildren, Christopher Moy, Sarah Moy, Shane Hyde, Zachary Hyde, and Lucas Hyde; a sister, Shirley Hyde Norton (Ernest) of NY; a brother, Ronald Hyde (Alstine) of OH. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark J. Key, the Rev. Randy Waugh, and the Rev. Gary Mahathey officiating. Mr. Hyde will lie in state from 1:00pm until 2:00pm prior to the service. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Entombment and services will be held in New York with dates and times to be announced. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, 3543 Robinhood Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
