Alicia Marina Chuquiruna Aquino

Alicia Marina Chuquiruna Aquino passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on August 31, 2025.

Alicia was a deeply giving person and a true woman of faith. She loved God wholeheartedly, and her devotion was evident in the way she lived her life. She joyfully shared her faith with others and was unwavering in her loyalty and commitment to the Lord. While living in her native country of Peru, Alicia, together with other sisters in Christ, began a ministry of intercession that continues to bless many to this day. She also served as President of the Women for the Wesleyan Church in the Center District in Lima-Peru. She devoted her life to the Lord and remained faithful until the end.

One of her greatest joys in life was being a mother. She treasured her son and two daughters, raising them with love, care, and strong values. Alicia was married to the love of her life, Enrique, for 45 beautiful years. Together they co-pastored, leading their church with grace and devotion. Their bond was admirable, a true testament of love and faithfulness. Though Enrique is heartbroken to have lost her far too soon, he finds peace knowing she is now rejoicing in God’s presence.

Alicia found immense joy and purpose in caring for her family. She delighted in raising her children, nurturing her marriage, and creating a warm and welcoming home. She led her children in God’s ways, teaching them to love Him and remain steadfast in their faith. As a testament to her devotion, her three children continue serving alongside her husband in the Lord’s ministry. Alicia was a woman of prayer, in every conflict and challenge, she turned to God first. Serving the Lord and being a steady support for her husband’s pastoral ministry filled her life with meaning. She lived fully, gave generously to her church and community, and will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Enrique; her son, Samuel Alcantara; her daughters, Joy Alcantara and Esther Alcantara; and many extended family members and dear friends.

A funeral service to honor Alicia’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Central Terrace Methodist Church, 3 E Devonshire Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. A reception will immediately follow in the church fellowship hall.

Alicia fue una persona profundamente generosa y una verdadera mujer de fe. Amó a Dios con todo su corazón, y su devoción se reflejaba en la manera en que vivió su vida. Compartía su fe con gozo y fue inquebrantable en su lealtad y compromiso con el Señor. Mientras vivía en su país natal, Perú, Alicia, junto con otras hermanas en Cristo, fundó un ministerio de intercesión que hasta hoy continúa siendo de bendiciendo para muchos. También se desempeñó como presidenta de Mujeres de la Iglesia Wesleyana en el Distrito Centro de Lima-Perú. Alicia dedicó su vida al Señor y permaneció fiel hasta el final.

Uno de sus mayores gozos en la vida fue ser madre. Atesoró a su hijo y a sus dos hijas, criándolos con amor, cuidado y sólidos valores. Alicia estuvo casada con el amor de su vida, Enrique, durante 45 hermosos años. Juntos pastorearon, guiando a su iglesia con gracia y devoción. Su vínculo fue admirable, un verdadero testimonio de amor y fidelidad. Aunque Enrique siente profundamente la pérdida de su amada esposa, encuentra paz al saber que ahora ella se regocija en la presencia de Dios.

Alicia también encontró un inmenso gozo y propósito al cuidar de su familia. Disfrutó de criar a sus hijos, cultivar su matrimonio y crear un hogar cálido y acogedor. Guiaba a sus hijos en los caminos de Dios, enseñándoles a amarlo y a permanecer firmes en la fe. Como testimonio de esto, sus tres hijos continúan sirviendo junto a su esposo Enrique en el ministerio del Señor. Alicia fue una mujer de oración; en cada conflicto y desafío, acudía primero a Dios. Servir al Señor y ser un apoyo constante para el ministerio pastoral de su esposo dieron profundo sentido a su vida. Vivió plenamente, dio generosamente a su iglesia y a su comunidad, y será recordada con gran cariño.

Dejan para atesorar su memoria su amado esposo, Enrique; su hijo, Samuel Alcantara; sus hijas, Joy Alcantara y Esther Alcantara; así como muchos familiares y amigos queridos.

Un servicio fúnebre en honor a la vida de Alicia se llevará a cabo el sábado 6 de septiembre de 2025 a las 5:00 p.m., en la Iglesia Metodista Central Terrace, ubicada en 3 E Devonshire Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. Inmediatamente después habrá una recepción en el salón de convivencias de la iglesia.
