Ms. Alita Boles Semones, 72, of Clemmons, NC passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born October 8, 1953, in Forsyth County, NC to James Alex Boles and Hattie Louise Ketner Boles. Alita attended Winsalm College and High Point University and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in 2010 after more than 37 years of service. She was a faithful member of Clemmons United Methodist Church, and after completing a four-year Disciple Bible Study program, she taught Sunday School and led the ladies Bible study known as the Doves. Her life reflected the importance of her faith and her commitment to share God's word. In addition to God, Alita loved music, history, mystery books, dogs, laughter, and her children. Those who knew her will remember these lasting parts of her life and the many ways they shaped her days. She is survived by her children, Emily Owens, Justin Semones (Jobana), and Kelly Semones (Stephany); and by her sister, Ramona Lawson.
A private service will be held at Westlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date at Clemmons United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association at American Lung Association. Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel is serving the family.
