Winston Salem – Allan Tate Samuels passed away Friday, March 1, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born September 20, 1952 in Richmond, VA to the late Walter Edward and Mary Doub Samuels. Allan retired after 20 years of service with IBEW # 342. He was devoted to his Union Work with IBEW and volunteered much of his time with them. In his later years, Allan always wanted to get his family together for his infamous chicken stew, also called “white soup” by his loving grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother; Terrance “Terry” Samuels.
Surviving are; his loving wife of 41 years, Terry Butner Samuels, two daughters; Jaime Butner, and Suzanne Smith (Jon), two grandchildren; Jaren and Peyton Smith, three brothers; Eddie (Nancy) Samuels, Rex (Shirley) Samuels, and Keene (Johnna) Samuels, and many special nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Union Cross Fire Department at 4401 High Point Rd. Kernersville, NC 27284. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Forsyth County Animal Shelter, 5570 Sturmer Park Circle Winston Salem, NC 27105, or to the charity of donor’s choice.
