Mrs. Alma Lee Dillon Amos, 96, of Walkertown passed away February 18, 2026, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home in Stokesdale, NC. She was born on January 24, 1930, in Forsyth County, to the late Julius F. and Minnie Long Dillon.
Alma Lee retired from the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System in 1993. She was a lifelong and devoted member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church, Morris Chapel United Methodist Women and Walkertown Civic Club until her health declined. She was a faithful servant to the Lord, loved her family dearly and was a natural caregiver to others. Not one to venture far from home, she loved spending her time with family, reading, and watching the Atlanta Braves. She was the definition of a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was happiest surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Raleigh Levi Amos; her siblings Milton, Malcolm, and Leona; and grandson, Stephen Levi Amos II.
She is survived by her 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren: son, Stephen (Ginger) Amos, their child, Wendell (Rae), Loren and Austin Amos; son, Jerry (Cindy) Amos, their children, Ryan (Rebekah), Ellie and Rhett Amos, and Caitlin (William Schroer) Amos; daughter, Karen (Jeff) Watson, their child, Jacob (Carrie) Watson; also surviving are a niece, Anita Ray, nephew, Franklin (Cindy) Johnson and great niece, Mela (Tony) Lowe.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jeff Coppley, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Women in Faith UMW, P.O. Box 57, Walkertown, NC 27051.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Countryside Manor for the care and love provided over the last 5 ½ years. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
