Alma Lee Brannock Doub

LewisvilleMrs. Alma Lee Brannock Doub, 84, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013. She was born August 25, 1929 in Galax, VA to the late Frank Paul and Nannie Davis Brannock. Mrs. Doub was a very devoted member of Concord United Methodist Church where she served as the church secretary, sang in the choir, and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She retired from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine. Mrs. Doub was also a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, Lewisville Chapter. Mrs. Doub was a seamstress, enjoyed needlework, was a wonderful baker and cook and loved to travel and read. Preceding her in death was the love of her life who died in 1985 her husband, James ""Jimmie"" Doub; two sisters, Hattie Stoneman and Jo Beamer and a brother, Frank Brannock. Surviving are three daughters, Linda Morgan (Joel), Rebecca Beauchamp (Steve), and Patti Dobbins (John); seven grandchildren, Maggie Morgan, Rachel Little (Kaylan), John Morgan, Richard Beauchamp (Suzanne), Wesley Beauchamp (Toni), Hannah Beauchamp, and Chris Dobbins (Amy); also surviving are seven great-grandchildren, a beloved brother-in-law, Harold Doub, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Concord United Methodist Church with Rev. David Baxter, Rev. Tom Albert, and Rev. Michael Flack officiating. Mrs. Doub will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the family life center. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Clemmons Village 1 for all the loving care that was given to Mrs. Doub.
