Andrew Brown

Mr. Andrew Chelsey Brown, 71, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in West Virginia on January 19, 1947 the youngest child of the late Ashby Stephen Brown and Lula Pearl Blankenship Brown. Mr. Brown was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be remembered for his generosity and humility. He was a retired coal miner and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all of his siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Yoko Jana Brown; two daughters, Cindy Clark (Dwight) of Winston-Salem and Kellie Bodenhamer (Barry) of Copeland; a son, Kenith Brown of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren, Chafin, Chelsie, Cayle, MaKenley, Grayson, Austin and Chandler; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. Jimmy Gibson and Mr. Paul Brown officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
