Andrew Grimes Lynch

Mr. Andrew Grimes Lynch, 81, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at his residence. He was born July 17, 1932 in Maryland and grew up in Georgetown, Delaware. Mr. Lynch was adopted by his grandparents, Mr. Andrew Johnson Lynch and Catherine Williamson Lynch. He attended grade school at Jefferson Military Academy in Mississippi and graduated from Georgetown High School. He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Poplar Springs Church of Christ. Mr. Lynch enjoyed his family, he loved to travel, and listen to music. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Alice Lynch Hurley and brother-in-law, E. Burton Hurley. Surviving are four daughters, Jane Lynch Evans and husband Scott of Winston-Salem, Jan Lynch Barr and husband David of King; Drewann Lynch of Winston-Salem; Ellen Lynch of King; five grandchildren, Joel, Samuel, Kate, Rachel, and Ethan. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Poplar Springs Church of Christ with Don Wallace and Bill McKenzie officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service at the church..
