Mrs. Angela Elizabeth “Lib” Walker Wilson, 91, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, surrounded by her family. Lib was born on September 10, 1933, in Thomasville, NC, the daughter of Dr. Nathaniel and Pauline Phillips Walker.
Lib graduated from Thomasville High School, then went on to Greensboro College, earning a degree in Primary Education. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday School for years. Lib was an elementary school teacher in Raleigh, NC and the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools for 22 years. She loved teaching, especially first and second grades. She also loved music, gardening, Old Salem, and the Moravian traditions and music.
She married James “Jim” Laban Wilson on July 8, 1961, who preceded her in death in 1982. Lib was also preceded in death by her parents. Remaining to cherish her memory are her daughters, Angela Camille Wilson of Banner Elk, NC and Beth Wilson Meadows and husband, Steven of Winston-Salem. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Eliza Camille Meadows of Charleston, SC and Sophie Caroline Meadows of Asheville, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Trinity Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jon Gaska officiating. A private committal service will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville, NC.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Trinity Elms Health and Rehab for the loving care they provided to Lib. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1416 Bolton St. SW, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
