Angela Sue Grubbs Newsome, 61, passed away on January 21, 2024, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Angie was born on May 7, 1962, to Helen Todd Grubbs and Jesse Bert Grubbs, Jr. in Winston-Salem. She was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Fun beach trips with the girls, finding seashells, and the smell of the ocean were all among her favorite things. Most of all she cherished her family, and especially enjoyed the little ones. She will be remembered for her kind heart and outgoing nature. In addition to her parents, Angie was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Newsome. Surviving are her children, Brent Newsome (Amy), Michael Newsome (Angie), and Rachel Newsome; three grandchildren, Lola, Calliope, and Phoenix; a brother, Barry Grubbs; a mother-in-law; Nancy Newsome who was very special to her, as well as Ashley Nunez who was like a daughter. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Bethel Methodist Church. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.
