Angela Monique Williams

Angela Monique Williams, age 49, of Winston Salem, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025. Born on April 10, 1976, in Forsyth County, Angela was the cherished daughter of Ms. Yolanda Williams, her name, meaning “angelic one”, was a fitting reflection of the radiant spirit she embodied throughout her life.

Angela’s warm, caring nature and her infectious sense of humor made her a source of light to all who were blessed to know her. She had an extraordinary ability to make people feel valued and uplifted, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. Known for her loyalty, kindness and generosity, Angela dedicated much of her life to supporting others, especially within the LGBTQ community. She was always there for those in need, offering both practical help and emotional encouragement.

A passionate traveler, Angela loved exploring new places and embracing new experiences. She had a profound love for animals of all kinds, especially guinea pigs. A dedicated Duke Blue Devil, Carolina Panther and Fantasy Football fan, her heart was as vast as her interests. She found joy in the simple things: laughter, companionship and spreading positivity wherever she went.

Angela was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nettie Andrews Williams, grandfather, Henry Gilbert Crumpton and uncle Hezekiah Williams. She is survived by her devoted mother Yolanda Williams, and beloved brother Corey Walker. Nephews Ethan Randall Walker, Silas Rhys Walker and cherished niece Maya Rebekah Walker.

Angela leaves behind a loving family, including aunts Pamella Mack (George), Wanda Middleton, and Peggy Miller Williams, and an uncle Donald Ray Williams. She is also survived by many cousins, Tony Lenard Williams, Gary Williams (LaTesha), Melvin Middleton II, Nikki Robinson (Christopher), and Michelle Cates (Eric). As well as younger cousins Tristan Christopher and Kayden Micheal Cates and many more. Two very dear friends/family Juliana (Julie) Ronquillo and Derek Stamey.

Angela’s spirit will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of her family, and those whose lives she touched. Her memory will forever shine brightly, reminding us of the beauty of kindness, loyalty and unconditional love. Though she is no longer with us, the positive impact she made in this world will remain.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at 2:00pm Friday, July 4,2025  in the R.F. Miller Center at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will have  a private inurnment following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to an animal shelter or LGBTQ charity of your choice, causes that were dear to Angela’s heart.

Rest in peace, Angela. Your light will never fade.
