Mrs. Anita Rich Spillman Harding, 88 of Farmington, passed away Tuesday November 4, 2014 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born June 2, 1926 in Davie County to William Steelman and Nancy ""Nannie"" Seats Spillman. Mrs. Harding was a member of Farmington United Methodist Church and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association. She retired from the Department of Veteran Affairs with over 25 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Ray Harding. Surviving are four children, Jerry Mason (Nancy) of Portsmouth, OH, Joe Mason (Kathy) of Farmington, Constance Harding (P.J.) of Huntersville and June Harding of McLean, VA; three step children, Nancy H. Gryder of Oak Ridge, TN, Katherine H. Ritchie of Chester, VA and Helen H. Harris (Ronnie) of Columbus, OH; seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Farmington United Methodist Church with Rev. Sara Scruggs officiating. Burial will follow in Farmington Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the Donor's choice.
