Ann Hayes Whitley

        Mrs. Ann Hayes Whitley, 81, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away Friday, July 25, 2025 at her home. She was born November 11, 1943 in Davie County to James Alex Hayes and Martha Lanier Hayes. Ann was a faithful member of Yadkin Valley Baptist Church. She retired from K & W Cafeteria after 42 years of service. Ann was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved gardening and singing. Surviving are her four children, Teresa Smith (Steve), Jeff Smith (Lynn), Beth DeHart and Dawn Myers (Vince); eight grandchildren, Jeremy Smith (Courtney), Travis Smith (Heather), Bryson Smith (Laura), Tyler Wood, Marissa DeHart (Josh), Alex Wood, Logan DeHart (Julia) and Mary Beth DeHart; ten great grandchildren, Raimi, Cooper, Curtis Evan, Arley, Sydney, Daxton, Tucker, Adrianna, Daisy and Missy; three brothers, Jim Hayes (Debbie), Tim Hayes and Randy Hayes; two nieces, Talara and Tessa; three nephews, Jason, Justin and Jacob; two special family members, Donna Ottenbacher and Stefanie Gusinsky; her loving dog, Zoe and many other friends from her church and work that she loved dearly.

        A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Craddock officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church in Clemmons.
