Mrs. Anna Thomas Walin, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away on January 16, 2017 at her residence. She was born on April 13, 1931 in Forsyth County to William Clinton and Susie Robertson Thomas. Anna was of the Christian faith. She retired from Piedmont Gastro Intestinal with many years of loyal service. She enjoyed bowling, golf, traveling and volunteering her time with various organizations but the most important thing in her life was her family. Being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother was her joy. In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by a son, Van ""Scott"" Denson; her first husband, Jesse ""Buddy"" Denson; a sister, Helen Spainhour and a brother, W.C. Thomas. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, George E. Walin; one step daughter, Tracy Walin of Winston-Salem; two step sons, Gary Walin and fiancé Robin and Brian Walin; one granddaughter, April Mandarano and Matthew of Advance; one grandson, Frederic Denson of Advance; one great-granddaughter, Faye Greemann; two sisters, Martha and Shirley and her special friend of 50 years, Peggy Stout. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday January 19, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Chapel with Pastor Alan Malchuk officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
