Annie Ruth Ashburn Brim

Ms. Annie Ruth Ashburn Brim, 90, passed away May 11, 2017 at her residence. She was born April 26, 1927 in Surry County to the late Posey Lester and Ollie Magnolia Whitaker Ashburn. Annie Ruth was employed at Amos & Smith for several years, then retired from Perry Manufacturing. After her retirement, she was active in the Green Thumb Retirement program. She was a member of Pinnacle View Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir, and took part in the WMU program. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Clyde Holt Ashburn; one nephew, Ed Ashburn; and one son-in-law, Dennis Mayes. Annie Ruth is survived by one daughter, Judy Brim Mayes; one grandson, Brent Mayes (Malissa); three great-grandchildren, Parker, Chloe, and Micah Mayes; one niece, Linda Ashburn Peele, and a very special furry friend ""Gabe"". A funeral service will be conducted 4:00 P.M. Monday, May 15, 2017 at Pinnacle View Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Chamblin and Brent Mayes officiating. Interment will follow at Pilot View United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday Evening, May 14, 2017 at Pinnacle View Baptist Church from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pinnacle View Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Glenda Woods, 692 Mt. Zion Road, Pinnacle, NC, 27043.
