Annie Shouse Davenport

Mrs. Annie Shouse Davenport, 72, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023.  She was born in Forsyth County on January 30, 1951, to the late Roy Coleman and Ollie Mae James Shouse.  Mrs. Davenport retired from Hanes Hosiery and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.  She loved to garden, take trips to the Tennessee Mountains, and most importantly she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.  Preceding her in death was a son, Charles Michael Davenport.  Surviving is her husband of 52 years, W.E. Davenport; son, Chris Davenport (Christina); five grandchildren, Kristina Howard (Tyler), Charity Davenport, Kaitlyn Davenport, Andrew Davenport, and Ella Howell; sister, Nancy Samuels (Ed); brother, Jerry Shouse (Linda); daughter-in-law, Roxanne Davenport and her cherished pet, “Buddy”.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Bush officiating.  Burial will follow at Beck’s Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, SECU Hospice Center, 243 N. Lee Avenue Yadkinville, NC 27055.  The family would like to thank all the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice for all the care and support that was given to Mrs. Davenport.
