Annie 'Catherine' Whisenhunt Lane

Mrs. Annie ""Catherine"" Whisenhunt Lane, 79, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Lane was born in Forsyth County on May 29, 1934 to Maney and Myrtle Hawks Whisenhunt. She was an active member of Center Grove Baptist Church and loved God with all of her heart. Mrs. Lane will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and Grannie who always enjoyed sharing her blessings with others. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Cliff and June Whisenhunt; and a sister, Sadie Williams. Mrs. Lane is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Harold Lane; four children, Portia Griffin, Greg Lane, Myra Etheridge and husband Joseph, and Tracy Rhoades and husband Brad; eight grandchildren, Charlotte and Shawn Griffin, Megan Freedle and husband Kyle, Cameron Lane, Mark and Kristen Etheridge, and Chad and Austin Rhoades; two great grandchildren, Kylie and Payton Griffin; and two brothers, Haywood and Raymond Whisenhunt. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday, January 3, 2014 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel with the Pastor Josh Hill officiating. The family will receive friends from 11am to 12:30 pm Friday, prior to the service, at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.
