On July 5, 2026, A.C. Larrimore departed on a journey to join Bonnie, his parents, brother, Don, and the many friends and relatives who have gone on before him.
A.C. was born on November 24, 1931, to A.C. Larrimore Sr. and Josephine Larrimore. He attended public school in Forsyth County, graduating from Mineral Springs High School in 1950. He entered Appalachian State and graduated in 1954. He was employed by Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System for 38 years, having served as a teacher and coach, high school principal, and assistant superintendent until his retirement in 1993. He specifically would want to give special “thanks” to all those with whom he worked in the school system and to all the students with whom he served for enriching his life with so many great memories.
He was a member of College Park Baptist Church since 1958 and served as a deacon and teacher, and on many church committees. On many occasions, he commented on how important the three “F’s” were in his life: faith, family, and friends. These were extremely important and guided him in his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie; his parents, A.C. Sr. and Josephine; one brother, Don, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Those left behind to carry the torch of life are his son Greg, his wife Kay; his daughter Lisa Randleman and husband Steve, and his grandchildren, Sophie and Spencer Randleman. Also surviving is one brother, David Larrimore, his wife, Dottie, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at College Park Baptist Church, 1701 Polo Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27106. The family will receive friends following the service.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following: AC and Bonnie Larrimore Endowed Scholarship for Education, Appalachian State University Office of Development, ASU Box 32176, Boone, NC 28608, or to College Park Baptist Church Reserve Fund, 1701 Polo Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
