Mr. Arthur Carlton ""AC"" Motsinger, Jr., 97, passed quietly at his home on March 3, 2017. Mr. Motsinger was born in Forsyth County on October 15, 1919, to Arthur Carlton, Sr. and Laura Schultz Motsinger. He was a member of Blue Lodge Scottish Rites 289 af and am. AC was a veteran of the United States Air Force (Army Air Corps), serving at Barksdale AFB in Shreveport, LA; Fort Bragg, NC, and in Europe in during the WWII at LaHarve, France; Bonn, Germany; and was prepared to leave for Berlin, Germany, when the war ended. He worked as an aircraft mechanic for Piedmont Airlines for five years before joining the Ammons Exxon Partnership on Reynolda Rd. for twenty-one years. After working for Ed Kelley's Appliances for two and a half years, he faithfully served Carswell Distributing Company for over thirty years. A long-term member of Beck's Baptist Church for over 50 years, he served as a Deacon, was a member of the finance committee, property committee, nominating committee, and a cook for evening meals. He also a supported the ministry of Winston Salem First Church. The family is grateful for the friendship and service of Mr. Nassir Rubama and Ms. Flora Minja who cared for AC and Carlton for many years. Their faithfulness and dedication to the family provided years of joy and dignity, allowing AC to enjoy his home and have personal companionship even after Rosie and Carlton passed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Motsinger; and one son, Carlton Motsinger, III. Always mindful of the needs of the children in the community, AC and Carlton have made a bequest to the Winston Salem Foundation in memory of Rosie. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Forsyth Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
