Arthur Jennings Nachand

Mr. Arthur Jennings Nachand, Jr., 85, passed away Wednesday, June 08, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born August 23, 1930 in Louisville, KY to the late Arthur Jennings Nachand, Sr. and Sadie Brenner Schniedmiller Nachand. Mr. Nachand proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from the University of Kentucky and retired from R.J. Reynolds with 31 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher and Scout Master of Troop 914. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nachand was preceded in death by his first wife, Iris Kiger Nachand. He is survived by his loving wife, Vera Nachand; two children, Laura Nachand Sheets and husband, Mark and Peter Brenner Nachand and wife, Virginia; three grandchildren: Tyler Brenner Nachand, Catherine Iris Nachand, and Nicholas Tanner Sheets; step-son, Kenneth Sharp; and special friends, Darle and Mary Lou Shouse. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 10, at Rural Hall Memorial Park with the Rev. R. Sidney Lanier officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
