Mr. Arthur Eugene Perryman, Jr. left this world on Thursday February 6, 2014, to reunite with his angel, Juanita. Eugene was born December 9, 1925 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Arthur E. Perryman and Jessie B. Sink. Eugene was a long time member, as well as a very active member of Central Terrace United Methodist Church, where he met his love and companion of 56 years. After graduating from Griffith High School in 1943, he went on to serve in the US Navy as a signalman during WWII. Eugene devoted more than 39 years to the Forsyth County Public School system where he taught at Hill High School and later on became the principal of Waughtown and Lewisville Elementary. Throughout retirement, Eugene was an active member on the board of Forsyth County retired school personal. In his spare time, he loved to paint and wood carve. Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Perryman. He is survived by his three children, Marcia Perryman Rowe and her husband D. Richard Rowe of Hickory, Darlene Perryman Sherman and her husband Jerry Sherman Sr. of Lexington, and Brian Eugene Perryman and his wife Penny Martin Perryman of Pfafftown. His legacy lives on with eight grandchildren, Shannon Peters and husband Nathan Peters, Bobbie Jo Wheeles and husband Bryan Wheeles, Jessica Rowe, Hannah Perryman, Hope Perryman, and Danny Jo Lawson. Eugene has seven great grandchildren, Bradley Peters, Katelyn Peters, Preston Wheeles, Mackenzie Wheeles, Josh Sherman, Ashley Sherman, and Amy Sherman. Close family members include Jane Strehlow, Sister, Edna and Jerry Johnson, sister and brother-in-law and a dear friend, Sylvia Crim. A service of love will take place at 2 P.M. on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Bill Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude for the care given in the cardiac Intensive Care Unit of Forsyth Medical Center.
