Winston Salem - Arthur ""Bid"" Lindsay Swaim, Jr. 89, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Shannon Gray Rehab and Rehabilitation Center. Bid was born July 30, 1925 in Forsyth Co. to the late Arthur Lindsay, Sr. and Julia Satterfield Swaim. He was a trusted friend and an auto mechanic for sixty plus years. Bid was known in the area as one of the better mechanics around, who always dealt with people as honestly and fairly as he knew how.
In addition to his parents Bid was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Leonard Swaim.
Surviving are; a daughter, Joan Lane (Tony), a son; Larry Swaim (Nellie), grandchildren, Chris Lane, Cory Lane (Ashley), and Brandon Swaim, K.C. Myers (April), and Tonya Mock; great-grandchildren Callaway, Hunter, Skyler, Kris, Haylen, Justin, Ashley and Heather; one great-great-grandchild Ayden; two sisters; Nell Rose Cude, and Linda Spry, one brother, Doug Swaim( Dee).
A Graveside Service will be conducted 3:00 PM Monday, September 22, 2014 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Danny Smith officiating.
The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
