Arthur Lee Williams

Arthur Lee “Art” Williams, 69, passed away at home on July 9, 2024, following a brief illness. Art was born to Joseph Redden Williams and Margaret Louise Crump on July 27, 1954, in Concord, NC. Art would never miss a Dallas Cowboys game whether on TV or in person. He also had a big heart for animals, including his nine special fur-babies (seven cats and two dogs.) Starting from an early age Art knew he wanted to see our country. He started his career driving long roads and curvy highways and found his first love being a truck driver. He was a truck driver for various Union organizations and was proud of it. He retired after 30+ years of faithful service with ABF Trucking. Art was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are Pat Chilton Williams became his first love for 31 years of marriage, replacing truck driving; sister, Joanna Poole (James); niece, Jennifer; great nieces, Evelyn, Adeline, and Gabrielle; also, his good friend and fellow Cowboys fan, Danny Akers. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, July 12, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family requests no flowers. Instead, memorials may be made to Forsyth County Humane Society, or AARF.
