Aubrey Hill

Mr. Aubrey Lee Hill, age 86, passed away July 2, 2018 at Priddy Manor Assisted Living in King, NC. He was born December 27, 1931 in Surry County to the late Joseph Walter Hill and Minnie Irene Turney Hill. Aubrey graduated from Pinnacle High School in 1951. He was a dedicated member of his community in that he served as one of the founding members of the Pinnacle Fire and Rescue for 45 years. He served in many capacities including chief and assistant chief. In addition, he served as the chairman of the board for several years. He was a longtime and faithful member of Pinnacle Baptist Church and served as deacon for many years. Aubrey delivered fuel oil for 22 years and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 16 years of service. His favorite love was his farming the land. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Eugene Hill; one granddaughter, Christy Hill, and one brother, Arthur "Punk" Hill. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Violena Coon Hill; two daughters, Carolyn Stone (Kenny), Arlene Beasley (Joe); six grandchildren, Shannon Halfman, Ashley Hill (Jonathan Bailey), Lorie Stone, Scott Stone (Ashly), Justin Manuel ( Brittany), and Kayla Manuel; eight great-grandchildren, Savannah, Bryce, Alli, Deegan, Carter, Addison, Braylen, and Cayden; one great-great-grandchild, Landen. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, July 6, 2018 at Pinnacle Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Horn, Rev. Carl Whittaker, and Pastor Steve Hedgecock officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, July 5, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Chapel Rural Hall.
