Ausbon Ellis

Mr. Ausbon Ellis, 87, of Advance passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at his home. He was born December 30, 1928 in Davie County to William Albert and Nancy McBride Ellis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Cope Ellis; five brothers, Ben, Gilmer, Luther, W.A. ""Al"" and F.R. ""Shorty"" Ellis and four sisters, Katherine Ellis, Louise Bennett, Ruth Sheek and Betty Fry. Surviving are two daughters, Judy Snider and husband Wayne and Carol Ellis; a son, Kenny Ellis and wife Rachel; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; a brother, Gene Ellis and two sisters, Nancy Dinkins and Patsy Sheets and husband Richard. A funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday October 9, 2016 at Macedonia Moravian Church with Rev. Zach Dease officiating. Burial will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 P.M. on Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macedonia Moravian Church or to Hospice of Davie.
