Avalee Pyrtle Hutchins

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Avalee Pyrtle Hutchins, 79, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. Avalee was born on October 16, 1935 in Guilford County to Charlie and Emma Pyrtle. Avalee was a member of Baux Mountain Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, gardening and shopping! In addition to her parents, Avalee was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Pyrtle; a sister, Lou Zigler and a granddaughter, Lori Hutchins.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Calvin Hutchins, of the home; three sons, Mark Hutchins, Bruce Hutchins (wife, Angie), and Rodney Hutchins (wife, Mariel); two daughters, Betty Lemmons and Brenda Fulp (husband, Jimmy), all of Kernersville; 10 grandchildren, Leslie Lemmons, Jenny Campbell, Stephen Fulp, Krystal Davis, Dakota Hutchins, Matthew Hutchins, Meredith Landreth, Alexia Hutchins, Leah Hutchins and Naomi Brito; five great grandchildren, David and Gabe Campbell, Nolan Landreth, Ava and Naya Davis; one brother, Rubin Pyrtle, of Colfax; and her beloved dog, Pugsley.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7, at the funeral home.
