Aya Anne Sidoine Ipou Sainbert, 45, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on November 14,1980, to Adjoua Kanga and Affi Ipou. Aya was the light of any room she walked into. She will be forever remembered for her beautiful smile, and the compassion she held for everyone. Aya went into healthcare and worked as a medical technician, where she spent each day performing the work she was so incredibly passionate about- helping others. She took pleasure traveling, particularly cruising, consuming media (especially the Avatar trilogy and the Book of Mormon), and preparing and enjoying traditional African food. Aya was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and dedicated many years to the church and her faith. More than anything, Aya loved her family. Her fondest memories were spent with her loving husband, Wilner, her children, and stepchildren whom she considered her own. Hosting for family and friends was a staple in Aya’s life, and she took pride in feeding each guest delicious foods and sharing space and conversation with others. Towards the latter end of Aya’s life, she continued to show strength, bravery, and independence through the hardships of battling her sickness. She will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved her.
Aya is preceded in death by her grandmother, whom she loved dearly, Kouame Sialou; as well as her two beloved children whom she is now resting peacefully with, Isabelle Adjoua Sainbert and Elijah Sainbert.
In addition to her parents, left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Wilner Sainbert; two children, Abraham Bamba and Ahou Sarah Bamba; five step-children, Whitney Sainbert, Wedson Sainbert, Francesse Sainbert, Willens Sainbert, and Lorycesse Sainbert; a cousin, Kra Kouassi Louis; close friends, Cervanta, Jackie, Mama, Sophia, Mrs. Wilson, and Benta; A support for Aya and her family, Mrs. Cyrus; as well as a host of other extended friends, family members, and beams of support for Aya and her family.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Greensboro at 3621 Lakefield Dr, Greensboro, NC 27406.
