B. Robert Zaleski

B. Robert Zaleski, 91, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away peacefully on October 12, 2016. He was born August 30, 1925 in Syracuse, NY, a son of the late Edward and Bertha Zaleski. He was preceded in death not only by his parents but also by his first wife Stella Lasowski, brother Edward and sister Delores. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Patricia Zaleski of Winston-Salem, stepdaughter, Mrs. Bruce (Robin) Hansley, stepson, R. Wayne (Amanda) Henry and stepdaughter, Mrs. Steven (Renee) Rudd. Survivors also include his brother, Francis Zaleski of Sherrill, NY, nephew Edward and niece Eileen Zaleski, as well as several step grandchildren, great nieces and great nephews.

Robert earned several medals while serving with the U. S. Army in Germany during the Korean conflict. He then started a career which lasted 27 years working for Allegheny, Mohawk and USAirways Airlines. Upon retirement he had many hobbies which included nautical interests, bicycling, wood working and building wooden models. He was a born leader, who was loved by many and will be missed by all.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am, Monday, October 17, 2016 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Cook as Celebrant. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Helena's Cemetery in Sherrill, NY.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 1411 S. Broad St., Winston-Salem, NC 27102.
