Mrs. Barbara Ann Adams Ring, 89, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Yadkin County on February 16, 1936, to the late Odell and Lucille Adams.
Barbara retired from Hanes Knitting after many years of dedicated service. Known for her kind heart and generous spirit, she was a caregiver to many and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was also an exceptional cook—famous for her beloved coconut cakes—and her warmth and hospitality will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Bill” Ellis Ring, Jr.; her son, Gary Edward Ring; and a step-grandson, Tracy Tulbert.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Teresa Cameron (Mike), Mike Ring (Heather), and Tim Ring; step-daughter, Kay Tulbert (Earl); sister, Betty Gentle; brothers, Larry Adams (Yuna) and Roger Adams (Sandra); grandchildren: Travis, Nick, Adam (Rhiannon), and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Lathan and Brannon; step-grandchildren: Pam, Kent, and Dana; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Robert F. Miller Center at Hayworth-Miller, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, with a sharing of memories at 1:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow at Forsyth Memorial Park.
Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family.
