Barbara Jean Stokes Bowers

Ms. Barbara Jean Stokes Bowers, 79, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Forsyth Co. on May 12, 1936 the daughter of the late Harrison Wiley Stokes and Eola Mae McNair Stokes. Barbara was a member of South Stokes Church of Christ and was a loving, kind, giving and caring mother and a wonderful friend to everyone who knew her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Moser. Barbara is survived by a daughter; Sharon Bowers, a son; James ""Jamie"" Bowers, four grandchildren; Brandon, Brent, Cory and Cameron, two great-grandchildren; Ashlynn and Matthew, a sister; Ollie Gentle and a brother; Hubert Stokes. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall with Jerry Pence, Minister officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
