Barbara Ellen Crotts Stone

Barbara Ellen Crotts Stone, 77, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Richland Square Assisted Living in Greensboro.

Barbara was born on October 7, 1948, in Forsyth County to the late William Vonduran Crotts and Mary Minifee Carter Crotts and grew up in the Winston-Salem area where she lived most of her life.

Barbara was employed in the accounting field as a bookkeeper and worked for various companies throughout the years. Later in life she was employed with Kohl’s department store in Kernersville, retiring after 20 years of service. She was also a member of Triad Baptist Church in Kernersville.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, John Calvin Stone; and sister, Billie Gail Smothers.

Surviving family includes her two children, Heather Day (David) and Chad Stone; grandchildren, Seth Day, Ethan Day and Alyssa Day; three siblings, Michael Crotts, Tammi Brown and Teri Brown; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Lucy.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, with Pastor Rob Decker officiating.
