Barbara Yates Tesh

Mrs. Barbara Yates Tesh, 92, of Tobaccoville, died Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living Center. Mrs. Tesh was born July 4,1934 in Forsyth County to Joe L. and Mildred Boger Yates. She loved to cook and was well-known for making chicken pies for fundraisers at Antioch United Methodist Church, where she attended. When time allowed, she enjoyed working in her yard, going to yard sales and fishing at the Outer Banks. She retired from the human resources department of Western Electric after more than 21 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Ruth Collins and Linda Hester, her husband, Jack E. Tesh, her step-son, Mickey Tesh and her daughter-in-law, Debbie Comer. She is survived by daughters Kathy McKittrick and Sharon Wingate (husband, Dennis); sons Tommy Comer and Bobby Comer (wife, Cathy); grandchildren, Nathan, Tara, Adam, Dustin, Pamela, Karen, Sydney and Alex; thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, all whom she loved dearly. The family will receive friends 3:00-5:00 PM Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. Burial, in Antioch United Methodist Church cemetery, will be private. Memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, Post Office Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017.
