TUTTLE - ADVANCE Mrs. Barbara Sue Grubbs Tuttle, 77, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 5, 1936 in Forsyth County to the late James and Florence Grubbs. Mrs. Tuttle was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. She was the backbone of the family and a great cook. She prepared a meal every Sunday to gather the family. Mrs. Tuttle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tuttle was preceded in death by her son, Tony Tuttle; and her sister, Janet Swain. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, G.L. Tuttle; two daughters, Lynn Rutledge (Lynn) and Lisa Williams (Rusty); four grandchildren: Westley, Jason, Allison, and Brooke; three great-grandchildren: Danika, Emma, and Abigail; brother, James Grubbs; and many extended family members. She was ""Mamaw"" to the many children she kept over the years. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12 at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall with Pastor Rodney Hellard officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
