Barry Kent Turlington

Mr. Barry Kent Turlington, 66, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016, at his residence. Mr. Turlington was born on May 30, 1950, in Clinton, NC to the late Alfred Bertrum Turlington and Louise Owens Turlington. Barry was a former member of Union Ridge United Methodist Church and also a member of Sons of Am-Vets. Mr. Turlington is survived by one sister, Nancy Shapiro and her husband, Bob of Southport, NC; two nephews, Benjamin Shapiro and David Shapiro, his wife, Katie, one great-niece, Ava Shapiro, all of Minnesota; special friends, Dan and Sue Sheets of Winston-Salem; and many cousins. Funeral services for Mr. Turlington will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Kevin L. Kilbreth officiating. Interment will follow at Union Ridge United Methodist Church cemetery in Winston-Salem. Barry was well liked by everyone he came in contact with and never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
