Beatrice Beard

Beatrice Prevette Beard, 87, of Kernersville, NC is now with her Lord and Savior. She was born in Wilkes County, the daughter of the late, William Harrison Prevette and Wadie Harrold Prevette. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She warmed everyone's heart with her smile and playfulness. "Bea" as everyone called her, was an avid sports fan. She loved football, baseball, and basketball. She was a Wake Forest fan and an Atlanta Braves fan. Her favorite hobbies were walking at the mall with her friends Lil and June and gardening. She was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Davis Beard, Jr., her daughter-in-law, Tammy Childress Beard; two brothers, Roy Prevette and Coy Prevette; five sisters, Floye Garris, Connie Spicer, Gladys Wiles, Dolly Prevette and Annice Marlow. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa (Mark) of Wallburg, NC, son Tim (Cindy) of Kernersville, NC; son Greg (Stacy) of Greensboro, NC and son Doug (Diane) of Climax, NC; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses that helped with her care and also for the love, care, support and prayers of her neighbors. The funeral service will be conducted Monday, October 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice and Pallative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
