Mr. Bernie William ""Bud"" Gross, 76, passed away Wednesday March 5, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Forsyth Co. on July 18, 1937 the son of the late William Lee Gross and Martha McGee Gross. Bernie was the owner/operator of B&G Exterminating. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Bernie loved all sports, but was a huge Atlanta Braves fan. He also loved Nascar, fishing and spending time at his home at the beach. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Bernie Dean Gross and a brother, Bobby Gross. He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine H. Gross of the home, two daughters, Sharon ""Sissy"" Gross of Winston-Salem and Janet Locklear and husband Les of Clemmons, a special grandson, Zackery Locklear and wife Lauren of Lexington and a special great-granddaughter, Kylie Grace Locklear. Bernie is also survived by a brother, Ray Gross (Beverly), two sisters, Kathy Sexton (Troy) and Linda Talbert (Dewey) and a special friend, Don White. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 noon Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Northpoint Baptist Church with Pastor Skip Furrow and Rev. Chuck Carver officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to thank Kristen McDaniel for all the love, care and support she has shown to Bernie and the rest of the family. They would also like to thank the staff of Hospice for everything they did during his time of need.
