Bertha Jean Beauchamp

Bertha “Jean” Beauchamp, 91, passed away peacefully at her son’s home on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

Jean was born in Forsyth County to the late William Grady and Beulah Conrad Raper. She graduated from South Fork High School. She married Clarence Steve Beauchamp on March 29, 1953. Jean worked at Western Electric Corporation and retired from Sears Roebuck Company. She loved cultivating her wide variety of flowers and vegetables. 

In addition to her parents, Jean was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Steve Beauchamp; her son, Kenneth Grady Beauchamp; twin sister, Jane Raper Buckner; and brother, William (Bill) Raper.

She is survived by her son, Steve Beauchamp (Rebeca); grandchildren, Richard Beauchamp (Suzanne); Wesley Beauchamp (Toni); and Hannah Hinds (Tom); great-grandchildren, Liam Beauchamp, McKenzie Smith, Griffin Smith, Abigail Beauchamp, Aidyn Beauchamp, and Samantha Hinds.

The family would like to give special thanks to Trellis Supportive Care for the Hospice care they provided to Jean.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Sharon United Methodist Church, Lewisville, NC, with a private family interment following the service in the church graveyard.

The family will receive friends following the interment.
