Mrs. Bertha Mae Johnson Stone Burge, 97, of Homestead Hills Senior Living passed away June 26, 2018 at the Danby House. She was born September 4, 1920 in Henry County, VA. to Samuel W. and Amy Lovell Johnson. She was a charter member and longtime member of both Peace Haven Baptist Church and Ardmore Moravian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, John William "Bill" Stone; her second husband, Floyd S. Burge, Sr. and her son-in-law, Sherrill H. Hiatt. Survivors include her daughter, Andrea Gayle Hiatt and friend Bruce Davis of Winston-Salem; her son, William Don Stone and wife, Catherine "Dee" of Winston--Salem; her stepdaughter, Jo Ann Burge Long of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Inell Fox of Collingsville, VA. and Ruth Masters of Bassett, VA; grandchildren, Richard Stone and wife Genevieve; Sandra Kiger and husband Tim; Sherri Millett and husband Ken; great-grandchildren, Steve Stone and wife Natashia; Nicole Stone; Korey Kiger and wife Hannah and Andrea Jones. She is also survived by three stepchildren, Floyd Burge; Kenneth Burge and Joann Long; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday June 29, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway. There will be a private Graveside Service at Mill Creek Baptist Church in Franklin County, VA., at 11:00 AM Saturday June 30, 2018 with Brother Danny Hart officiating. Memorials may be made to Ardmore Moravian Church, 2013 W Academy St, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
