Bessie Wilson Kendrick Sloop

King - Bessie Wilson Kendrick Sloop, 69, Taken away too soon, Sunday, December 18, 2016. She passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Bessie was born January 3, 1947 to the late Arry Ann Thacker Wilson and Douglas Eugene Wilson. Mrs. Sloop was a wonderful loving mother and grandmother, she loved her family and friends deeply. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Lea Kendrick, husband Jerry Lee Kendrick, and second husband, Gary Sloop, and two brothers, Billy and Jim Wilson.
Surviving are, her daughter, Stephanie Kendrick Byrd and husband Randy, three beautiful grandsons, Preston Matthew Byrd, Alexander Douglas Byrd, and Austin Lee Byrd, three sisters, Peggy Wilson Carter, Carol Wilson Bowers, and Janette Wilson Hunt, and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Smith Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Chuck Peters officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association local chapter, 7029 Albert Pick Rd Ste. 200, Greensboro, NC 27409, or to the local chapter of The American Cancer Society, 1900 South Hawthorne Road, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
